Type-casting if i ever seen it. I'm not saying theres anything wrong with Type-casting mind you. If you do a good job of it, might as well capitalize on it afterall.
Curiously, Nagi is probably the only one with an Age according to her appearance, if i remeber correctly she was 13, Louise has almost 16 and Taiga is 17-18, Shana however has an actual excuse because she's stopped aging since her contract with Alastor xD!

The above mentioned characters are all excellent characters, but it seems the artist just wanted to focus on "The Four Tsundere Wonders" as they are sometimes called.
Taiga is my favorite of the four, although that may change since I'm starting watch the "Shakugan no Shana" anime and manga. It's just that "Toradora" just...worked for me. It's certainly the most...realistic?...of the four series, so I think that's why.
On the other hand, I never liked Louise (or Saito, for that matter) since she's a violent bitch (and he's a perverted idiot).
