Perhaps the most well-known current imagining of extraterrestrial life is the "Little Greys".

They are a little smaller than humans. Some say that this is not the Greys' true form, but rather their space suits.

They take away livestock (mostly cattle) to gouge out their innards, and abduct humans for experiments or the creation of human children. As a result of their actions, they stand out as eccentric.

Do these beings really exist? Or will they eventually be negated just as Martians once were?

What shape will the space aliens of the future take?

Hayabusa-san first traveled outside Earth's orbital path while beginning acceleration, eventually having Earth take the lead.

Then she followed Earth for one year in an inner orbit, similar to being in the inner lane of a racetrack, accelerating as she was pulled along at Earth's orbital speed.

It was the first trial of an Earth gravity assist with ion engines.

It was originally the plan to use any remaining fuel in order to try additional missions after arriving back at Earth.

Martians.

There were many people long ago who believed that intelligent lifeforms existed on Mars. These resulted from the telescopic observations of Mars (made during a period of 1877-1886) by Italian astronomer Giovanni Schiaparelli.Schiaparelli discovered that there were many linear stripes across the Martian landscape, which he gave the name "canali", meaning "channel". However, when translated into English, the word was often mistakenly translated as "canal", which resulted in an odd state of affairs.

The guess that "since canals are man-made objects, there must be intelligent life!" led to the materialization of many who claimed that Martians existed on the red planet, and images of Martian beings that resembled octopi were born from conjecture such as "their heads must be large if they're so intelligent," and "they must have slender limbs due to the low Martian gravity."

With the presentation of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds" in 1898, his idea of the Martian extraterrestrials became a global standard.

Then, some time passed...

The American spacecraft "Mariner 4" was launched in 1964 and sent to investigate Mars, whereupon it was concluded that life did not exist there, and the existence of Martians was repudiated.
