Hair's all gathered in a big braid, and what we can see from the back of her head is flowing toward that braid. Big bushy tail below her butt. So...what's that bit with the gold loop by her arms?

That's the tail of the braid, it loops under her body around her arm's level.

Oh, just a sharper turn than I was expecting.
