Well, you can "mute" the comments. And the the "LOL" thing is really only relevant for the Meme videos anyway. Watch some NicoNico Doujins. Your see less WWWs and more actual conversation.

I didnt even know there was a spanish one. I dont think an english translation exists other than some fanmade pages on how to register for NicoNico Douga.
Also, the whole 'Mute comments' thing on niconico isnt new. Its been there since the begining IIRC. Its the button with the picture of speech bubble on it. I'm thinking the only reason why you see the comments on the youtube uploads is because they were probably recorded by someone who doesnt know enough japanese to read the FAQ on NicoNico.

I never notice the mute button cause most of the stuff is in japanese and I can't even find the sign in button. Yes, there is a nico spanish, i think there might even be a french one too, but they don't have an english one.
Most popular uploads usually don't have any comments flying across it unless its a joke Nicovideo but I just find the normal nicevideos quite annoying when I can't see anything.
