Ink, Brush, Photoshop 7, and Illustrator 10

Ivory M., my art partner, and I were joking around one day and discussing how Kill Bill and Sasuke from Naruto have so much common. We were replacing characters and imagining Sasuke fighting them all just like Uma Thurman did in Kill Bill. We thought that it would be cool to do a doujin, but since we were in the thick of our webcomic, Orion, at the time I thought it would be really, really cool to kind of emulate the movie poster which I saw in the train station everyday going to school. So I found some stuff online, but it wasn't until I went to the Kim's Video that I found the actual movie poster. So, yes, we bought it and went to work.

It took Ivory M. some time to give me all the drawings for the poster. (I nagged her for them.) Once I got them it was up to me to ink and put everything together. The sword was the most dreaded part and I had to get my real one for reference, but Ivory M.'s was closest to it than mine was. She drew it on 3 sheets of vellum and I scanned in each piece, tones it on with that Computones filter. The original idea was to sell it as Bookmarks, but it looks better as a poster. I just finished the text so I thought that it was ready to put online now.
