Being a Flower youkai I doubt that Yuka would be effected by Medicine's poison...Or just by being Yuka susceptible to death.

Much as people don't take stage-power levels seriously, think of this:

Whenever Yuuka appears as a boss in PoFV, she's usually a Level 8 boss, right before the final stage. She's also the only one who never gets her portrait beaten up after the battle.

Playing as Medicine, though, she's a Level 7 boss, can be defeated rather swiftly due to Medicine's gas attacks, and Yuuka's portrait is busted up when you win.

The fandom runs away with this.

Not to mention that merely touching Medicine can inflame your skin and even some stronger Youkai aren't exactly safe around her.

Well, I dunno about that. I only played Medicine's story until I got to Shikieiki, and I wanted to save a replay which ended up killing the game. I know you can see the aftermaths in PoFV regardless of continues, but I was close enough that it'd feel bad to continue my way through...

Gameplay wise, Medi is the most broken character as far as beating the AI is concerned; doing a perfect Lunatic run with her is a piece of cake.

You do realize that plants are suceptibe to toxic chemicals in the land and air right? why do you think poison types beat grass types?

She gets the beaten-up portrait at least once (If defeating her using Komachi for example, i don't remember this happens with other character)

This is how I felt after I 1cc'd lunatic as Medicine!
