Will someone enlighten me about why Halo is so popular? I've played it and was not impressed by the gameplay (extremely slow, no ability to fly, pathetic excuse for multiplayer, stiff controls, etc).

When Halo: Combat Evolved came out a while back, it pretty much revolutionized FPS games, and it's popularity with almost everyone who played it has carved a bloody fucking swath through just about any other FPS that it's been compared to, except Call of Duty, which holds a similar status. The multiplayer isn't pathetic, you just have to have played any FPS multiplayer other than CounterStrike or GoldenEye at least once in your lifetime. The "slowness" is to give people a chance to not get ass raped every few seconds. When I play CoD, which is pretty fast, me and my friends just rush through the enemy spawn repeatedly and fuck them in their mouths, under their nails, and in their voice boxes, which is what bk randies always scream about. The controls aren't stiff, and you generally don't fly in FPS games, with the exception of the jetpack in Halo: Reach. Flying in FPS games is also stupid, as it just gives faggy little children another ability to abuse.

You can apply this to every game released. I haven't played HALO, but it seems like FPS with Storylines are getting more popular. And I find that to be good, since people always bash on shooters for not having any substance.
Yet, when FPS have a storyline people want to rage that it is MMO exclusive. *sigh*
Actually, this doesn't apply anywhere near to BioShock 2. The storyline was fucking awesome, but the multiplayer made me angry, as it did with 95% of the people who played it. It would have been a perfect game had that pile of moldy ass called multiplayer not been made.
