    Without Kondou Katsuya's character design there wouldn't be Kiki's Delivery Service... What does McDonalds even think of Japanese animation? Are they intentionally destroying culture?

    This twitter commenter here is probably a bit off, as the McDonalds ad version of Kiki (post #7739557) seems to be more closely based on some of the book illustrations of the story that Ghibli adapted into the movie (or maybe it's a blend between the two). They even credit the original book's author in the ads, but not the movie. They are intentionally not directly referencing the Ghibli version.
