They develop an immunity to it during the drawing process.

They start drawing until the image starts to look cute, then they work up a resistance to that level of cuteness before continuing on. This has been known to take anywhere from a minute to 12 years depending on the artist, but experience tends to speed up the process. Once they can look at their far-from-finished drawing without getting nosebleeds, hugging it, or spewing endless amounts of baby talk at it, they are able to draw a little more of it. The cycle of drawing and stopping to develop a resistance to the cuteness continues until the drawing is complete, or the artist dies from improper cuteness immunity development. By the time the drawing is finished, the artist should have developed enough tolerance to be able to admire their work without the need of a sugar-free diet.

And that is how the contents of the disgustingly adorable pool were made.

I was thinking of something more like "The Funniest Joke in the World" skit from Monty Python, when they had a crew of people to translate the joke into German. Each only dealt with one word. One accidentally saw two words and had to spend some time in a hospital recovering.
