That fan seems anachronistic. Not because I thought those kinds of oscillating fans were more recent, but rather, those fans should have metal blades and wider gaps between the bars! Not dangerous enough!
(I saw an "antique" oscillating desk fan with metal blades and NO frontal protection cage at all at my grandma's)
