Ne? aren't tights the same thing as pantyhose?

You could wear tights as a stand-alone clothing item, like a figure skater of a ballet dancer. Pantyhose are transparent, and tint your legs a color.

Depends on the country. In UK they're all tights I belive. But in US, non-tranaparent are tights, otherwise they're pantyhose. Such as a ballerina wears tights, but the dark sheer hosery is pantyhose. Correct me if I'm wrong (which wouldn't surprise, I'm not a girl).

dogfin is pretty much right. Tights are opaque and generally thicker, while pantyhose are more transparent, thinner, and much easier to rip.

It also has to do with the fabric they're made out of. Pantyhose tends to be chemically treated nylon.
tights tend to be sturdier materials such as spandex or cotton.

To be honest, i don't give a damn. Anyone searching pantyhose will just have to search "tights" too, but this argument is pretty redundant.

Sorry, but just because most people are ignorant of the differences doesn't mean there aren't any.

Am I the only one here who's actually enjoying the picture instead of thinking about the pantyhose?
