They seem to be themed, "Kyon sexes up this universe (and any other that he comes accross")" - for no good reason.

It's a gag 4koma. Don't sweat the details so much.

For no good reason? The reason is that he's Kyon and everyone wants him. The SHnY universe runs on this very same principle, after all... just not taken to such extremes.

Well I for one don't like Kyon being that popular since Haruhiverse shouldn't be focusing in romance (like, HaruhixKyon is absolute, Asahina is just for comic relief). But it's just me. Everyone has his own fantasy and we readers should respect it (like Touhou). If we think it's not good then simply don't read.
