While I'm not 100% I'm pretty sure the big lion is Richard the Lion Heart given the impression (He's called Richard and he's a Lion and it's mentioned as a "form" of his) I get from this commentary and one from some other art of him (The other dude's only referred too as a brother), correct my tagging if wrong.
