On this day every year, I bring forth these five Statues of Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder and clean them.
Lacquerware is unlike stone statues. Regular maintenance is required to maintain the color of the lacquer.
Attention needs also be paid to the humidity and temperature of the storage space. Otherwise, the wood will soften and grow damp.
Is this a hassle? Certainly not. Celebrating my birthday alongside these five Statues of Her Excellency, the Almighty Narukami Ogosho, God of Thunder each year brings me satisfaction enough.
