Adding some English text to an ai generation does not constitute "ai-assisted". FYI.
It’s a bit more of an involved process. This was an old piece I decided to revisit and improve upon.
Here’s a time lapse. I listed it only as ai-assisted based on what I was told by a mod over on Gelbooru. I’ll be sure to tag both ai-generated & ai-assisted https://files.catbox.moe/oyqxd5.gif
A timelapse of a fully Ai generated image and then you inpainting a few parts (the eyes and blush) and adding text. This still isn't really ai-assisted. Better to just go with generated.
Assisted is for significant redrawing or painting over by hand. Or drawing the character but generating a background.
makes no difference to me — but whatever works, I’m fine with it.. just sharing my artwork.

It should make a difference to you since AI-generated works are against the rules here while AI-assisted works are just borderline content. You cannot legitimately call something you only touched up in a few places "your" artwork. That's why we make that distinction. If there's hardly any artistic effort, it doesn't belong here.
Also, Gelbooru's standards for what counts as AI-assisted aren't necessarily the same as ours.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. Ai work isn’t allowed here, but there’s a tag with over 10K ai-generated works from all sorts of different artists and creators? What exactly isn’t allowed? I assume it’s in reference to poorly created AI works (I.E hands, artifacts, clarity, ect) which my work isn’t.
None of my (recent) work features any inconsistent flaws — at least from the mentioned pointers above. It’s always improving. But that’s sorta the point of being an artist. To improve with the tools you’re using.
It makes no difference to me, given how there’s a likelihood of me tagging both opinions — to avoid any potential confusion. Yes, it’s ai. Yes, it’s also assisted work, through layering, touch-up, scaling, expressive detailing, ect.
This is my first time posting my work here and it’s definitely off to an… interesting start.

If you actually looked at that tag, you would see that aside from the first two pages, all of which are Pending and not Approved, 99% of the tag is deleted. The tag exists for categorization.

Wouldn’t it be easier to just post in the TOS “sorry ai works aren’t permitted” vs creating a tag and potentially cause massive confusion?
It’s not hard to deprecate tags and prevent excess work. Seems backwards but fine, doesn’t matter to me.

It is in the TOS Under Things you cannot do, you see a link to the Upload Rules which lists all the things you can and cannot upload. Ai-generated is in there.

Tags are also used by many people, and the maintenance crew especially, to double-check and clean up stuff. The tag off-topic for example, is by definition content that we do not want, but the tag is perfectly valid.
If you want to further experiment with AI, consider giving https://aibooru.online/ a visit. It's a booru just like Danbooru (it's even operated by some people from here), but fully aimed at AI stuff.

AI-generated works are already explicitly forbidden in help:upload rules. Users still upload them anyway. You could argue that we should just permanently deleted on sight, but false positives are very possible, especially with how advanced AI is getting nowadays.
Labeling those posts as AI helps prevent things like accidental appeals and undeletions of AI works. Not all deleted content breaks the rules and some good works fall through the cracks, so we need a way to filter out things like AI that should never be undeleted. Also, if a post isn't AI but tagged as such, we can simply remove the tag and save the time it would take to hunt down the image on the Internet again.
Again, it is important to learn the threshold of what counts as AI-generated versus AI-assisted. Posts in the latter category will still have a harder time being approved then works that don't use AI at all, but they at least have a chance. But posts in the former category will always be deleted and intentionally uploading them is a bannable offense. If you need help knowing which tag to add (never add both; choose one or the other), you can ask in topic #22285. But it would be best if you avoided uploading AI entirely.
Edit: And partially sniped by GabrielWB (with more advice you should listen to).
