I've always liked the idea of the younger Touhous growing up and succeeding the older Touhous in an epic fashion (much like the theme of a certain Gainax anime). Chen would attain the full power (black magic, gaps, and all) of and the name Yakumo after both seniors pass (maybe died saving Gensokyo or the whole of EXISTENCE ITSELF along with the other old maids alliance. )
Cirno, the exception to "fairies can't get stronger," truly becomes the strongest, matures and grows up, and wears a scarf similar to Letty's to honor her memory (Cirno-nee is Cirno's adult Simoun) after the snow woman died/sacrificed herself/melted forever/global warming.
Wriggle Nightbug would become the next caretaker of the Sunflower Field and acquiring one of the legendary Umbrellas of Power, signifying her/his ascension to being the other strongest to Cirno's STRONGEST, and also acquiring an even more androgynous body.
Flandre would inherit the title of Scarlet Devil and become the new mistress of the mansion. (herp derp Umineko ref.) Maybe even joining the new Team 9.
Mystia Lorelei would inherit a yakitori stand and expand business.
Udongein would become the next Doctor- I mean Eirin- err physician for the whole Gensokyo.
Youmu finally completes her style that her teacher Youki purposely left for her to finish, and graduates from Kid Samurai to Samurai. Something similar to the "Great Sports Day" pool.
Rumia's seal is removed and she becomes epically evil then Cirno goes "GRIT THOSE TEETH" then Heel Face Turn, and becomes good while keeping her new found power (and older body).
Daiyousei grows in power along with Cirno.
Reimu is saddened to the point that she discovers Musou Tensei then learns that she also has the Original Hokuto Bloodline flowing in her veins and becomes something like Hakurei Miko.
After dying, Marisa becomes the 2nd Mima and reappears again to GAR!Alice at episode 26.
Sanae becomes the sole God of her shrine and receives both Suwako and Kanako's god powers. (would she then need a shrine maiden herself?)
Minoriko would become the sole God of Autumn.
The Three Mischievous Fairies learns how to play instruments, which somehow makes them stronger.
Sakuya learns that she has inherited The World and becomes a massive jerkass that sucks (blood).
Hatate's granddaughter goes off to defeat Sakuya once and for all.
And that's all I got. Does anyone else think the idea sounds pretty fun?
Fundamentally, they're still youkai and they age (if at all) a LOT slower than humans. What you're talking about is something that would take place THOUSANDS of years in the future.
