Artist's commentary
You’ve probably noticed, but this illustration was drawn in the same style and coloring I used to do before.
If you look at the media on my X account, you’ll see that there actually aren’t many drawings from 2025. I used to draw a lot up until 2024, though.
In fact, back in 2024, I participated in a subculture event at a Vocaloid booth.
I used this illustration as the main visual and submitted it as part of a fanart book at the booth.
But that day… I honestly didn’t have a very good experience.
One visitor looked through my Miku fanart book right in front of me and said they didn’t want to buy it because Miku wasn’t teal, so it wasn’t good.
It’s really embarrassing to admit now, but ever since then, I started to think that people didn’t like my original style.
At some point, the blue-haired Miku disappeared from my drawings.
After that, I kept trying strange experiments just to change my art style…
Although, to be fair, I think my skills did improve because I tried out so many different things, haha.
Well… even now I’m going through a major slump,
and since it was my first time directly participating in an event, it weighed heavily on me.
But among the Miku fanart I drew in 2025, I enjoyed drawing this one the most!
Because it truly reflected what I wanted to draw.
Thank you for reading this long post ♥
