From the looks of it, agar-agar may have not originated on this day. The story goes that agar-agar was first discovered by an innkeeper at the Fushimi ward that got rid of surplus tokoroten, which gelled due to the cold of the night. This apparently happened in December, and the day was set to 27 because Fushimi → fu shi mi → 2 4 3 → 2 4+3 → 27 (Sources: [1], [2]).Could you just leave without asking any questions?
