Robin: Many famous tacticians from China, notably Sun Tzu. Corrin: A disassociation with your surroundings, or several places of belonging. Byleth: Chechens are known for their mercenaries and presently fight for Russia. Shez: Can be seen as Byleth's foil and is adjacent to the current conflict. Alear: Apart from the colour scheme, Alear is of the chosen one archetype and Russia seem to have a protagonist complex overall.
Actually, the more I think about it the parallel to the Russia-Ukraine conflict might stretch to Kris, Robin, and Corrin as well, but I'm too lazy to keep thinking about it.
