From the more broad point of view? Absolutely not. But you know, blah-blah-blah diversity and inclusiveness blah-blah-blah why this show has only male main cast? blah-blah-blah change it!

This or they decided that they can't win with otokonoko/"trap"/femine-looking male character in anime thing and now just decided to censor it. I would not be surprised.

Shun was a pacifist and emotionally secretive person. Naturally in a shonen series this can't fly since he's showing obviously feminine traits, so they changed him into a girl, BUT, a girl showing a pacifist and sensitive nature is extremely sexist now a days, so Shaun here is an assertive, go getting badass, which are obvious masculine traits, so they basically did a double down of dumbassery.
