So uh, I don't know much about the lethality of boiling sugar water aside from some random Google hits. Is it really that bad?
Based on these tables, it's both hot and would stick to you long enough to cause second degree burns. Haven't seen or heard anybody gotten to third degree burns on hot sugar, but hey.

Apparently there've been a number of attacks involving it in prisons. I'm not sure about third degree burns, though.
I didn't know how much to use, so I didn't put in any.

I thought it'd be nice if it was sweet, so I added sugar.
Hot sugar water...
Boiling hot water mixed with sugar is capable of burns worse than normal boiling water, as the sugar raises the boiling point of the water and makes it harder to get off the skin.
