regarding flag_request, it seems that the flag opposite of Republic of China Flag (which Taiwan uses) was the first flag of the Republic of China used in 1912.

The flags' colors are a bit different from the real version. I believe the artist did this on purpose.

^ ok, five-colored flag sounds just fine and shorter than it's official name. the second stripe should be yellow though for manchus. but appears darker than normal. creative license?

And the artist called this ROC flag "Black Sky, White Sun, and a Wholly Red Earth Flag."
