If by pasta you mean spaghetti, then yes, of course. How else are you going to pick it up with a fork, otherwise?

Speaking only for myself, I do twirl spaghetti... but with only a fork, I don't need a spoon.

Wait what, how else are you supposed to do it? In my country we twirl it with a fork.

I often chop it up with my fork and then kind of shovel the pieces in since twirling I find often makes a mess.

Wait there are people who don't twirl pasta? Isn't that going to be messy since the pasta might slip off the fork? Although I don't use a spoon for twirling it, just the plate and the fork

Pick up the plate and bring it close to my mouth... if I'm eating alone.

    Pffff! Come on guys!
Of course we don't eat pasta by twirling it in Italy!
We eat with our bare hands!

seriously, "We didn't twirl the pasta in Italy"? How do they manage to eat Spaghetti or Linguine or Capellini or Bucatoni without twirling it? Do They always eat broken spaghetti? (as the name suggest, it's just spaghetti but broken before cooking them, I don't know how it's called in english XD)

btw I do twirl the pasta using both a fork and a spoon

You need finesse. Hold the fork like the gentle touch of a girls hand. Don't force the fork to turn, let it guide your motion like a couple in dance. The fork will do the work, intermingling and weaving through the strands of pasta. All you need to do is cheer it on with give a little tender direction and finger action. Then when she's all full, scoop her up lovingly with a kiss and eat it out.

Or just shovel it in your mouth like a barbarian. :D

I stab through the mass of pasta and bring it up about 10 centimeters to my mouth, upon which my lips take over the task of moving it into my mouth.

And yes, that does involve bringing my head low enough for the task.

In Japan, Twirling up the pasta has became a greeting!
Oh! Well, you had to remember that by twirling is how to eat in Japanese-style!
    I'm sorry...
