New Horizons is on her way to Pluto, just 26 days to go, moving at over 13000 m/s, she is really the first spacecraft to reach pluto, as the Voyagers and Pioneeers didn't has pluto in their flight plan. They went to Uranus and Neptune but not one has visited Pluto because of its elliptical orbit demand a direct solar escape trajectory, which wasn't possible at that time due to many reasons, and the challenge has too much risk they opt for other plans instead.

The probe contain some cameras, both inflared and true color at very high resolution, dust collector and sampling system and she is powered by a RTG (Radioisotope thermoelectric generator) because solar power at that distance was so dim that it's like an evening sky on earth, which is not enough.
