Comes with relying on more than just instinct, I suppose. The sad reality is, any creature that has what would be considered human level intelligence is bound to do things like that. Whether you like it or not, I'd be willing to bet even the orcs and gnomes in this series do it too. The trick is to remember that those who would kill for their own pleasure or gain are far, far, FAR overshadowed by those who would never stoop so low.
