Unlikely. I'm guessing that the war is going pretty global now.

Yeah.... I'm pretty sure Ido's going to zero in on surtroming and lutefisk pretty hard, the way that stargazey pie and jellied eels became the only thing Brits eat.

One of the few times it's good to be American, at least our stereotypical food tastes good, even if it will make you the size of a whale.

Don't suppose there's any chance Kancolle will go postwar with Tre Kronor class, so if we get more Swedish girls it'll probably be the likes of Sverige and Fylgia.

Not that I've had it, but fried butter is supposed to just taste like really, really buttery toast, so while disturbing, it's not something you have to train your gag reflex not to respond to like "let's-see-how-close-to-spoiled-we-can-get-without-actually-getting-food-poisoning fish".

Na, burgers and fries are the big one and honestly after that pizza would probably be next.

Yeah in reality it's basically fried dough with a pat of butter in the middle that melts into the dough as it cooks. It's more a labeling stunt then reality. The crazy thing though is it's debatably not even that much worse for you compared to many restaurant meals considering how much butter is often tossed in various sauces. Hollandaise for instance can be basically HALF butter by volume and bechamel is barely better.

Fried burgers aren't really unusual though, there are a number of places in the US were burger patties are pan or even deep fried. I haven't had one, but the type used is normally a thin 'smash' burger type patty, apparently it tends to crisp them up more particularly around the edges.

I think Algester's referring to deep-fried whole burgers. As in, you dip an entire assembled burger — bread, grilled patty, cheese, onions/lettuce/mushrooms, relish/other condiments/sauces and all — into batter, then deep fry the whole mess in oil. Not fried patties.

Not gonna lie, that sounds more stereotypically Scottish than American. There was that whole thing about Glaswegians batter-frying Snickers bars (or I guess Marathons? I think that's what they're called in the UK) and Grodd only knows what else.
