Wait, what? Why on earth would you make an MG like that? Don't know much about gun design, but the extra long barrel + scope seem a bit counter-intuitive.

a DMR MG... but probably more like Russian meme things...

I mean all things considering MG36 technically due to its design also has a 2x scope

The Kord is meant to be a mobile heavy machine gun (even capable of using a bipod). The idea of firing one on high-heels seems like an iffy preposition.

TLDR: longer barrel = more bang per bullet

The longer the barrel the more propellant combusts before bullet leaves the barrel > more acceleration to the bulet > better terminal ballistics (effect on target). With heavy machine guns being what they are (emplacement weapons or vehicle mounted) extra weight doesn't matter (you don't need to carry it).
