Self-uploads aren't discouraged at all, and haven't been for a while.

That scribbled text is probably the closest the artist has ever come to actual digital painting.

I just find it funny that folks try and set up Patreon account for this...and that some folks actually consider supporting it. It's a bigger waste of money than having a Premium account on Twitter.

We hardly slapped it in people's faces before. It was one small section in the upload guidelines and one line in the self-upload wiki, neither of which anybody ever read, that got removed because the admins felt that there was no reason self-uploads shouldn't be treated the same as any other post. If they're discouraged, it should say that somewhere.
