"Soft" guro is tolerated here and there, but when it starts to get extreme (such as being violently ripped apart, before, during, and after the action) is when the line starts to be drawn.
Then again, there are some pics of that that managed to survived the queue, so I suppose it's a judgment call in the end.

What's confusing is that this image is mostly tame compared to some of the guro images that have made it through approval.
This is a list of criteria which is specially prohibited by Danbooru Terms of Service. Moderators will be strongly biased against even the highest quality illustrations that meet least one of these criteria:
.... Guro, or Extreme graphic violence. This includes severe mutilation of body parts, fetishism of inflicting flesh wounds and live amputation. Images with the guro tag represent the absolute threshold of acceptable violence on Danbooru. ....
Should have clarified, The reason this particular piece exists is because, if memory serves, Depth Bomb has an uncanny ability to leave the viewer disturbed, and was (or still is) a guro artist.
Honestly, I can't stand this kind of stuff, I didn't think much of it when I saw the thumbnail since it was a little hard to tell she was a quadruple amputee. But whatever floats a persons boat I guess.
