Actually, explain how you'd define "tolerable" to me. Because I take an interest in the criticism, kind or not, that people have for me. So if you would be willing to help me understand the standards here, I can put that knowledge to good use.

If you need other people to define 'tolerable' then you most likely doesn't read the ToS, including the upload rules and community rules.
If you don't know the 'lowest' base level of art we will tolerate, then browsing the site will explain it (with examples!) to you. Other way to find out what constitutes as 'low effort' or 'poorly drawn' is browsing the deleted posts that did get uploaded but not approved.
To put it blatantly, if you think your post belong to r34 or deviantart quality most of the times it won't belong here. Think of Danbooru like something of top quality art gallery where only the most sophisticated artwork can get entry.
