Etrian Odyssey III: NES Sprites (Enemies)
#02: Deadly Durian (お化けドリアン Monster Durian)
A fairly straightforward conversion. The tail slightly changed color from a dull magenta to dark brown to conform with the color of the mouth … meat? I’m not sure what you call the insides of a durian, haha.
As it turned out, these specific green and yellow palettes ended up being used for most stratum 1 monsters. This was unintentional, but did feel like something an actual NES programmer would have done to save space, so I like it!
