Well, the eggs aren't fertilized, but there are cases of birds laying unfertilized eggs, which then hatch into clones (genetic copies) of the "mother". It's called "parthenogenesis". Thank you college bio class!

But she's the one with the good point. Otherwise, all you're saying is that eating any egg is horrifying.
