A sport in which players shoot each other with plastic pellets from compressed air guns.
Gameplay varies, but often ranges from action shooting, close quarters battle skirmishes, military simulations (MilSim), to historical reenactments. It is played in indoor courses or outdoor fields.
Airsoft guns are usually designed to look as close as possible to real guns. Airsoft guns are particularly popular in Japan, where ownership of real guns is heavily restricted (with all guns except hunting rifles and shotguns being completely banned).
