Similar to a suspension bridge, this type of bridge also consists of towers or pylons, but rather than a wire being suspended from the towers, multiple wires are anchored directly into the tower and the deck of the bridge. It can easily be distinguished from suspension bridges because all of the wires will be taut and at an angle, rather than vertical and suspended from another wire. Some bridges like the Brooklyn Bridge are a hybrid of cable-stays and suspension, gaining the benefits of both designs.
Be aware of the differences between cable and wire on Danbooru. Despite the name, these bridges do not have cables.
