Ciaphas Cain is one of the most well-known commissars in Warhammer 40K. He is the protagonist of a namesake series of novels by Sandy Mitchell, written as an in-setting memoir. In them, he contrasts the propaganda surrounding him by portraying himself as a self-serving coward who only got fortunate time and again.
