A highly exaggerated swelling on the head caused by minor injury to it. Used for comedic effect, in order to make the depiction of physical violence in light-hearted material more palatable and less shocking. Often, said violence might happen "off-screen" and not be seen at all, especially if it is punishment for some misdeed that is seen. They seldom last longer than one scene, and virtually never represent serious injuries.
Frequently appears in conjunction with crossed bandaids. If someone is bumping their head against another person's head, use headbutt instead.
