Usually these projectiles are foam darts with plastic tips, but new projectiles have also been developed in the shape of foam spheres. Over the years, Nerf weapons (and clones by Buzz Bee, Air Zone or Dart Zone) have taken many forms modeled after real-life firearms: revolvers, pistols, rifles, breech-loaders, muzzle-loaders, and machine guns with ammunition belts.
The official Nerf brand also produces licensed toys based on weapons from popular franchises including Halo, Star Wars, Overwatch, Fortnite, and Marvel.
