A villainous character from the Harry Potter book series. He was the friend of Sirius Black, James Potter and Remus John Lupin, but betrayed them to the main antagonist Voldemort and became his minion until his death. Just like his former friends, he was able to shapeshift into an animal (a rat), which he used as his secret identity Scabbers to hide from the law.
