[spoilers]Ajaw was one of the thirteen dragonlords of ancient Natlan, but was imprisoned in a phlogiston bracelet when humanity revolted against the dragons. Kinich would later discover him and enter a contract with Ajaw, giving him access to Ajaw's powers in exchange for letting the dragonlord have his body once he dies.[/spoilers]
