Officially translated as Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon, it is the title of a franchise created by Takeuchi Naoko. It is generally credited with popularizing the concept of sentai magical girls called Sailor Senshi.
The Sailor Moon manga was preceded by Codename wa Sailor V, which centered around just one girl. Popular spinoffs are the Sailor Moon Musicals which are theater productions and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, a live-action take on the series.
The series is broken into five distinct seasons:

- Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon S (Infinity arc)
