damselfish
A common name for multiple subfamilies of fish within the family Pomacentridae, a family that includes their relatives, the clownfish.
Damselfish have a wide range of appearances but there are usually two types portrayed in art:
- Damselfish with blue-yellow coloration. This includes a blue body with yellow tail, or a blue top with yellow bottom.
- Sergeant fish, a genus of damselfish that are usually white with vertical black stripes.
