elmeth

エルメス MAN-08 ララァ専用モビルアーマー

A mecha from the Gundam series. It first appeared in Mobile Suit Gundam from 1979.

The MAN-08 Elmeth is a massive Newtype-use Mobile Armor developed by the Principality of Zeon in cooperation with the Flanagan Newtype Research Institute. It carried an oversized, early experimental Psycommu system, allowing its pilot to control the lethal "bit" remote weapons, as well as two 90° forward mounted mega-particle guns. This MA was piloted by Lalah Sune.

The Elmeth appears in episode 9 of Gundam GQuuuuuux where it is called "The Rose of Sharon". In the GQuuuuuux universe it was never produced and its Psycommu system and bits went on to be used in the Red Gundam. However, an Elmeth from an alternate universe was last seen underwater and was being resurfaced by Zeon.

In Japan, it was notorious for its name in katakana being exactly the same as Hermes (brand), requiring merchandises to have a workaround to it, such as ララァ専用モビルアーマー (Lalah's Mobile Armor).
