エクセルサーガ エクセル・サーガ へっぽこ実験アニメーションエクセル・サーガ
A comedy manga series by Rikudou Koushi, serialized in Young King Ours from 1996 until 2011. An anime version was made in 1999-2000, with 25 of the 26 episodes broadcast in Japan due to the last episode being intentionally too violent and obscene, so it was released only on DVD. The manga's jokes focus on Japanese society, while the anime's are homages to various series and genres. Excel Saga would later spawn the two-episde OVA Puni Puni Poemi.
It follows the plights of the evil organization ACROSS in its attempts to take over Fukuoka City, and eventually the world. However they fail repeatedly due to the first officer Excel's insane hyperactivity, inept decision making, and her fanatical one-sided love for ACROSS' leader Ilpalazzo.
