hachimaki
A Japanese headband made of cloth worn to signify dedication to extreme effort.
A plain hachimaki is commonly worn in school sports festivals to indicate the team color and to cheer for them.
Another common type of hachimaki has a rising sun emblem like the Japanese flag, or a short inspirational slogan meant to be displayed across the forehead.
If the headband is twisted, it is a nejiri hachimaki which is commonly worn by participants of a Japanese festival.
