headmaster (transformers)

A subset of Transformers introduced in Transformers: The Headmasters. When Headmasters transform into vehicle mode, their head detaches and transforms into a smaller robot, usually just the size needed to drive their own vehicle mode.

Both the Autobots and Decepticons have Headmasters among their ranks.
