A countdown timer used in a kitchen while cooking.
Also known as an "egg timer" or a "pomodoro timer" (specifically for a tomato-shaped variety). These can take the form of small hourglasses / sand timers, as mechanical wind-up devices with bells, or more modern digital timers with seven-segment displays.
