knitting needle
A large needle that isn't sharp at the pointed end. Two are used in conjunction for the art of knitting by stitching yarn together to weave a piece of cloth.
Knitting needles are often made of wood, but can be made of metal or other materials.
Knitting needles are sometimes erroniously depicted with a hook on the end similar to crochet hooks, but are distinct in that they have a constant thickness over their shaft, and don’t narrow right before the tip.
