saltire
A heraldic symbol in the form of a diagonal cross, like the shape of the letter X. Also called Saint Andrew's Cross or crux decussata.
Often used on flags (e.g. the Scottish flag) or heraldry.
Not to be used for random, arbitrary X symbols.
