The personification of the American John C. Butler-class destroyer escort as depicted in Kantai Collection.

As a destroyer escort, she is of a small frame comparable to an elementary schooler. Her short hair is a dull light blue hair done up in double buns while her eyes are a highly light, dull yellow.

Her wardrobe consists of a cuffed long-sleeved white serafuku with a blue sailor collar (oversized to fit her collar rigging) and aqua neckerchief, a pleated aqua miniskirt, a white dixie cup hat with a black ribbon and star ornament (representing the Battle Star she earned for Samar) attached to it, high-heeled red shoes with attached rudders and screws, and a thigh strap on her left leg. The signal flags on the ends of her hat ribbon spell out her radio callsign, NTIK.

In her right hand, she is holding one of her 5-inch gun turrets in an adapted assembly that resembles a P90 submachine gun. The assembly has a length of armor plating attached to the side, which holds at least 2 spare magazines.

The Navy Cross hanging from her left shoulder references both the one awarded posthumously to her namesake, Coxswain Samuel Booker Roberts Jr., and the one awarded to her skipper, Lieutenant Commander Robert W. Copeland, for the action off Samar.

She is accompanied by a little blue whale. This references another incident of the historical Samuel B. Roberts: on her first day of active service, she struck a large whale with her starboard propeller shaft off the coast of Maine, and had to return to Norfolk for repairs. (The species of whale was not recorded.)

Zeco once remarked that shipgirl Samuel does not have underwear underneath her clothes. It is not known whether it was just a joke as it has never been apparent on official art. Nonetheless, fans took this as semi-fact to the point of being a running gag used by some fan artists.
