Sub-Zero is a character in the Mortal Kombat series. A ninja of the Chinese Lin Kuei clan, Sub-Zero has command over the element of ice, and has the ability to freeze his foes solid.

Two people have taken the mantle of Sub-Zero. The first, Bi-Han, was killed by Scorpion in the first Mortal Kombat tournament before eventually becoming the ninja specter Noob Saibot. He would be succeeded by the second Sub-Zero, Kuai Liang, his younger brother. In the third MK timeline, as introduced in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), Bi-Han's fate is changed, and he remains Sub-Zero. His brother, meanwhile, is now Scorpion.
